Life sessions are meant to capture everyday moments that happen with your family. Sure, family portraits are so important to have and I include those as well, but the real moments… that’s what I love. Your interactions with your kids, wiping their chocolate mouths, kissing away boo-boos; those are the things that will soon just be a memory.
I hung out with this family for a couple of hours at their Connecticut home, pausing those precious memories for them one by one. I like to be the fly on the wall, but I also enjoy interacting with the family, too. We share parent/kid stories, I play around with the kids, help any way I can if necessary. My main goal aside from capturing these moments is to make everyone feel comfortable. Of course it can be a little strange to have someone with a camera following you around (we’re not all Kardashians), and all I want is authenticity. For those types of moments to happen, you have to be comfortable with your surroundings. So don’t worry, I get it!
